Figure Skating Club

Jacqueline (Jay) Alimpich

Jay has extensive experience teaching group lessons, and is currently

directing an area basic skills program.  She has been running The Edge Ice Arena’s Jr. Club program since 2006, and has been teaching private lessons with the club for about 5 years.  Jas has earned her degree in biology from Grand Valley State University, where she was also the president of the GVSU Synchronized Skating Team for multiple seasons.

Shanda DeWitt

Shanda has been teaching for Skaters Edge of West Michigan for almost a year.  She has several years of experience teaching basic skills, as well as private lessons.  Shanda was a competitive skater for the Detroit Skating Club.  She competed up through the higher levels; her last collegiate competition at the Senior level.  Shanda has completed her freestyle and moves tests through

Senior.  She is currently attending Grand Valley State University, pursuing a degree in broadcasting.

Amanda Loomis

Amanda is a Chicago native, having competed for DuPage Figure Skating Club, a highly competitive and prestigious skating program in the Upper Great Lakes Region.  She has several years of both group lesson and private lesson experience.  Amanda graduated from Grand Valley State University, where she represented the school as a member of the GVSU Synchronized Skating Team.

Jessica Stark

Jessica has recently taken over as the Skating Director for The Edge Ice Arena and Skaters Edge of West Michigan Figure Skating Club.  She was a competitive figure skater with the Greater Grand Rapids Figure Skating Club, where she enjoyed competing up through the higher levels.  She has almost 15 years of experience teaching basic skills/group lessons, and over six years of experience teaching private lessons.  Jes is working to complete a degree in physics from Grand Valley State University, where she also spent two seasons with the GVSU Synchronized Skating Team.

Scott Chiamulera

Scott is currently the Skating Director for a program out of Flint.  He is a former national and international pairs skater, who has coached skaters at the novice national level in both pairs and singles. He has completed his gold tests in pairs and freestyle as well as his pre-gold dance test and junior free dance test.  Scott was the national champion in novice pairs, silver medalist in novice ice dance, national silver medalist in junior pairs, national competitor for senior pairs, and also competed  pairs internationally.  Scott still holds his general manager position and skating director position in Flint, but will be available at The Edge a few times a week.

Stephanie Netzly

Stephanie has been teaching group lessons for several years and for the last couple years has taken on a couple students for private lessons.  She is currently competing at the Intermediate level in skating, and has danced through the highest level of ballet at Turning Pointe.  She will soon be graduating from Calvary Baptist High School and hopes to stay in the area to teach and skate while attending college.
