Skater's Edge of West MIWelcome to the Skater's Edge! |
Freestyle Ice Time: The Skaters Edge of West Michigan offers club freestyle sessions and the Edge Ice Arena offers arena freestyle ice time. Between the two, ice time is offered five days a week in the Fall/Winter months and six days a week in the Spring/Summer months.
Power Skating Class: This is a 20-minute on-ice class designed to enhance stroking and crossover technique, speed and flow, ice utilization, and strength.
Off-Ice Jump Class: This is a 30-minute class designed to teach the beginner, as well as the more advanced skaters, basic jump technique that can be applied to learning single, double or triple jumps. Learning jumps off the ice is the first step to successfully learning them on the ice.
*New for spring: On-Ice Jump Class. Same instruction as the off-ice jump class, but jump patterns and repetitions are taught.
Off-Ice Dance Class: This is a 60-minute class designed to teach ballet and jazz techniques in a group setting to enhance the skaters’ body awareness of movement and body placement in a dance routine that also is incorporated to the jump, spin and choreographic techniques performed on the ice.
Dartfish: DARTFISH is video analysis software that enables coaches to instantly view and analyze skaters’ jumps and spins to enhance visual learning. This software is used by skaters at all skill levels in order identify corrections to particular jumps or spins. Skaters can also see his/her progress over time with this unique software. We are very fortunate to be able to offer this to all skaters!
The Dartfish program can be run for any skater and his/her coach. Please contact skating Director, Heather Wahr, to set up your time today!
You can learn more about this program at www.dartfish.com.
